Malachi's Dream

...So a funny thing happened today. Malachi and I were talking this morning and this is how the conversation went;

Malachi: Hey Mommy, remember when that skunk came?
Me: What skunk?
Malachi: You know, the big skunk that came over to me and knocked me down and then kissed me and then he squirted his yucky stuff on me and then I took him and threw him in the ocean...wait I think that may have been a dream.
Me: Yeah, I think that was a dream, Bud.
Malachi: Yeah, I think it was a dream because then I gave him to my shark, and I don't have a shark.

So funny to me that the way he knew it was a dream was because he doesn't have a shark! That kid's waaaay too funny!

Zeke's 7th Birthday Party!

Here are some pictures of Zeke's Birthday party.

Zeke's Birthday cake. If you can't tell, it's a Pinewood derby ramp.

Here are he and his friends eating the personal pizzas they made. It was fun and so quick. They all seemed to like them.

Here is a race picture, they had fun. Boys and racing!

Sam did a scoring system with the boy's white boards it was a great idea.

Here are all the boys with their cars. The little boy just in front of Zeke in the red shirt raced Granny's car and won every time. It was sure cute! Thanks Granny!

Over all it was a really fun party. I had fun and I hope the boys had fun too. Now we'll have to think of another fun party for next year.

Another Malachi Story

Well...it finally happened! One of my children cut Eli's hair, I know you'll have a hard time guessing which of MY children would do it so I'll tell you like Zeke would...

M...A...L...A...C...H...I!

This is what happen when a mommy gets too sleepy!

But he's sure still cute!

But it was noticeable so I had do take some action...
Eli was not too sure about my action though!

It was so hard for me to do this, but people were stopping me in the store and saying things like "someone got the scissors" or "which big brother gave him a haircut?" I couldn't leave it like that.
He was pretty good throughout the haircut and only cried at the very end and only because he wanted down.

As my mom would say... "Did you learn anything?" and I would have to say yes. I'll never let Malachi watch Eli while I'm sleeping, ever again! *scouts honor*

Well it happened...Zeke turned 7 years old!
And we gave him a skateboard!

He looks pretty cool doesn't he.
He's just learning, but he's doing really well.

Thanks Grandpa Jeff for the books! It has been really fun.

He was really happy, but it was just such a funny face!

He is such a great boy! I love my Zekie boy!

My Boys and the Pinewood Derby

Last week (in march this is a little old, but such is my life) we had a really fun ward activity. It was a pinewood derby/chili cookoff. We had quite a few people show up (I'd say about 70, which is a lot for our little ward) and 28 cars register. Totally fun, but to back up a bit, a few months ago I was talking to Sam about getting the cub scouts excited about being cub scouts, he remimded me of a fun activity we'd had in our last area, a Pinewood derby for the whole ward. I thought it would be so much fun and we decided to combine it with an already scheduled Elders Quoram activity. Then came the realization that we did not have a track. I asked Sam if it was at all possible for him to make one, he said he'd look into it. A few weeks later we decided to just make one mostly because we have 9 years of cub scouts ahead of us. Can you believe that! 9 pinewood derby's with our boys in a row starting 2011! YIKES! From all that Sam read it seemed pretty easy so he went and got all the supplies... which cost a little more than we thought, but it all worked out and it was great!

Here are some great pictures.
