Well, I think My book faze has officially wained! I really want to read, but I have zero time to sit down and read. The library only lets you renew so many times before it's time to give the book over! I think I'll just have to buy the books I want to read, that way I don't have to worry about giving it back and I will have a really cool book shelf, that is if I ever get through the first one!

My life is busy for a few reasons. I was asked to be Zeke's Room Mom (any one with any fun ideas please let me know, I'm not totally decided about Thanksgiving and Christmas), which is fun, but time consuming. I also volunteer in his class once a week. Also very fun. Just this past Sunday I was called to be the HFPE leader in our word so that's exciting. All very fun things, but I've never been one for juggling. I guess this is the perfect time for me to grow!

I guess the thing that has been wearing on me most as of late has been the future. I have always lived in the moment. I have never planned more than 9 months ahead with out someone prodding me. My wonderful husband, on the other hand, is a planner! He asks me all the time what I want to be or what I want to do in the next 5, 10, or 15 years. He hates my answer but I have no better one, I just don't know! I have no idea where we will be in 5 years! I can plan and plan but I don't think it will do a thing for him or me. Someday I will go to school and get the degree or whatever it is I want, but until then I'll just need to keep doing what I'm doing, right? I really don't see the benefit of attempting to plan one's life. It, I suppose, could be fulfilling to see your plan come into effect but I'm worried about the other outcome. I don't mean to frustrate Sam, but I think failure would be worse.

I'm going on! Sorry! I am really blessed to have a husband who cares about my future and my wants and needs. He is a really wonderful man!

Next thing, I have a child (name omitted for protection((zeke)) who seems to think he can make his own rules for life. I've tried everything! Well at least everything I could think of to help him understand that he needs to obey, just because! He really needs a reason for each and every single rule! And not just any reason it has to be approved by him! Rewards have never worked for him nor punishments. I don't know what else to do!!! Please if anyone has any suggestions on how to help him understand the rules that are in the class, let me know!!! I am just about at my wits end! He is just too smart for his own good!

I guess that's what's up with me now! And by the way aren't my boys so sweet? They really are great boys! I've just gotta learn how to shape them into the men they need to be! No biggie!

2 Books

This past week I read two books kinda at the same time. One book I left in the living room and one in my bedroom and read them whenever I could spare the time. The funny thing is these books were polar opposites, but at the same time had a similar underlying theme. The two books were Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. They both were great but like I said they could not have been more different.
Something Wicked was such a boy book. It's about 2 boys and a dad who try to figure out how to save the town and themselves from something wicked. I wont tell you how it ends but I will say that is was really well written and fun to read (except for all the swear words! but I always just read over those) It was really fun to read from a male point of view. I realized that I don't remember the last book I read that was written by a man. It's so interesting how the tone of this book is so much different than say Harry Potter which is the story of a boy but written by a woman.
The other book, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, was very cute and fun to read. It was about a girl from Barbados who had to move to Connecticut to get out of marrying a really old dude. She was the granddaughter of a Knight and so was not expected to do anything but look pretty. Coming to the colonies was not exactly what she had expected as she had to work very hard to help her Aunt, Uncle and her 2 cousins with the chores and house hold duties. Girl book through and through! I loved it and would recommend it to anyone!
These books may not seem similar in the least bit, but they are in that both have the underlying themes of love and happiness. Not that the ends of these two books are at all similar, but they still seem, to me, to have the same feel. Sam told me that I see love in all the books I read because I'm such a LOVEly person. I don't know, maybe it is just me and I'm crazy and all, but what do you think? Have you ever read a book without love? All ya need is LOVE! ;}

I love My Boys!

Zeke's First Day of School!I can't believe my little Zekie Boy is now in school. He started kindergarten and we made it through the first week. Zeke was so excited for school and had so many ideas of what his first day of school would be like. When we went to pick him up he seemed disappointed. He said he was sad that they hadn't learned to read and that they didn't even sing the ABC song! Then he said, "I didn't even get any homework!" I'm so glad that he's excited to learn. The rest of the week went smoother because I think he realized that they were taking it a little slow. There have been a few things that have been fun. ( I have to warn you my son was born on a Wednesday! "Wednesday's child is full of woe")

Chi has to find some way to pass the time with out big brother. At the beginning of the week he was so happy that Zeke was gone. He sang all the time and played in his room and just had the best time, but as the week progressed he realized how much he missed his big brother. So he had to do something else. Here he is at Daddy's office working on his "computer".

But when Zeke gets home they put on their wrestling uniforms (Zeke's underwear on their heads) and, well, . . .

Yup!

Britain

The quote above is from one of my favorite authors Nick Hornby who happens to be from England which just happens to be my favorite place in the world (even though I've never been)!
I've decided to start reading as the school year has officially begun and so I needed a list of books to read. I thought wouldn't it be great if there was a list of 100 books that I would love, and then I found it on the BBC website. I found the greatest book list ever: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2003/05_may/17/big_read.shtml .
I'm so excited to start reading not only because 60% of the authors of these books are British, but also because 2 of my favorite books are on that list. It has to be true!
